WHAT ARE ARTICLES, REVIEWS AND COMMENTS?
Articles are the main content that you can add on the various sections on BorneoColours.com. Once you’ve posted an article, other users can respond with reviews.

HOW TO ADD AN ARTICLE?
Click on the Add New Content link on your top left of the site, which appears as long as you are logged in as a member. From there onwards you can then select which section and category to share your content.

TRAVEL GUIDE
Share your personal experiences or knowledge of borneo island travel related information. Sharing travel info can help potential visitor plan their trips better as well as guide them there. Most importantly, your comment and reviews will help improve Borneo’s tourism industry. Other users can then review your content and share their opinions on them as well. There are three sections in Travel Guide, these are;

Attractions
Experiences and information of interesting tourism activities and destinations that you know or have been too.

Accommodation
Experiences and Information on any types of tourism related accommodation, from a village homestay to Star rating hotels and resort.

Tastebuds
Experiences and information on best places to eat, your favourite meals, drinks or local delicacies, from local rice wine of remote villages to the pubs serving chill beers.

EDUCATION, JOBS AND CAREER
This category is where users can share educational, job and career related information. Recently, this category has evolved towards sharing information related to personal well being. It is about helping each other with information as this could lead to helping a stranger to be inspired and land a job or further their education. With everyone sharing, that stranger could be you. There are four section in EJC, these are:

Research in Borneo
Share any type of research offers, and research related material that is related to borneo island. Everyone including a student could need the information and can get in touch with you or the researcher directly if there is a need to find out more.

BorneoColours inspire to be the portal that help academicians, students as well as the general public to learn about past or upcoming research material and activities as well as learn more about borneo island.

Training in Borneo
Share information on educational or skilled training offers, be it free or chargeable. Someone out there may be in need of developing their skills. Share those information and let’s grow together as an educated and skillful bornean community.

Jobs in Borneo
Share those information on employment opportunities and you could help someone land a job, you may not realize how helpful it can be until you until it’s you who turns jobless!

Support Tools
Every now and then, we all need motivation in life. Most of the time, what we truly need is just guidance to be a better person or maybe just to be more productive at work. This section allows you to share articles, your thoughts or experiences to improve as an individual that relate to life, education , jobs and your career.

THE BUZZ
There is so much happenin’ in Borneo Island and around the world. The Buzz is the place for you to shout it out. Start sharing through three sections:

News
Share stories from legitimate sources that is related only to places in Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan, Brunei and Kalimantan.

Events
Shout out any types of event that you plan to go to or wish to promote. Event allows for you to share are only those that takes places anywhere in Borneo Island.

Bzeebodie

Share and discuss on any gossips, recent events and other stories worth getting “busybody” about. Bzeebodie is for any content you wish to share that do not belong to other categories in the portal, including news unrelated to Borneo.

Like any marketplace, it is a place of doing business. Typically, a marketplace is static. Here at BorneoColours not only we are dynamic and dedicated to showcase Bornean businesses to the world, we constantly position this portal well on the internet so it could lead businesses directly to you. As a bonus, our members are constantly growing and our number of hits as well as unique visitor per month is growing phenomenally.

Whatever your targeted audience is, be it global, regional or local, we do whatever it takes to help you stand out in your market choice through three sections:

Borneo Bazaar
If you are not a registered business owner and would like to sell your merchandise, place it online in this section. There is no fee or hidden costs, however your goodwill and business ethic must be observed. You will be barred from the marketplace if there is any report on for unethical business practices.

Borneo Business Directory
We are inspired to build the biggest Borneo Business Directory, so get yourself listed on Borneo Business Directory for FREE. Send in your information and we will put in up within 24 hours.

Give it Back Store (Coming Soon)
BorneoColours.com intend to walk the talk when it comes to Corporate Social Responsibility, thus creating a mechanism call the “Give It Back Project “ in support of sustainable financing for the community development and environmental awareness. Give It Back Store is where fair trade happen for local community to sell their product online, improving their livelihood by removing various level of middlemen and connecting the buyers directly to the community

This is the section that features YOU, the members of BorneoColours.com. BCBuddy and the Borneo Blog Directory are under here.

BCBuddy
BCBuddy is the social networking component of BorneoColours.com, which you become a member of when you sign up.

What are Applications?
Applications (or apps) are functions that appear on your BCBuddy profile. By default, every profile has three: the Wall, Groups which lists the groups you’ve joined, and My Articles which lists the articles you have posted.

There are more apps that you can add. Go ahead and explore them yourself on Applications > Browse on the BCBuddy tabs bar. You can view what you’ve added on Applications > My Applications.

What are Groups and Discussions?
You can create or join groups to gather BCBuddies who share common interests. Discussions are conversation threads that exist within a group.

To view a list of groups, go to BC Community > BCBuddy > BCBuddy Groups on the BorneoColours.com menu bar, or Applications > Groups on the BCBuddy tabs bar.

What is a Wall?
The Wall allows anyone to post messages directly on your profile page, visible to anyone. Your Wall posts can each also be commented on by anyone, and you can also delete them if you wish.

Can I put my blog feed on my BCBuddy account?
Yes you can. Add the My Blog Feed application. Then go to the app on your profile and click on the configure button.

Enter your blog’s Feed Url. To find it, look for a link on your blog that says “blog feed” or “RSS”. Copy it and paste here.

For Count, enter the number of blog posts you want to see on your profile.

Can I put my Twitter feed on my BCBuddy account?
Yes you can. In fact, you can have a two-way intergration between your Twitter and BCBuddy accounts if you wish, so that status updates on BCBuddy are posted on Twitter too.

Add the My Twitter Updates application. Then go to the app on your profile, click on the configure button and enter your Twitter account details.

If you choose “Yes” for the Update Twitter option, updating your BCBuddy status will automatically tweet the status update as well.

If you choose “Yes” for the Show Friend’s Updates option, the app will show the tweets of people you follow on Twitter instead of showing just your tweets.

What are karma points?
Every time you add content, join a group, update your status and so on, you receive karma points. Your accumulated karma points basically show how much of an active member you are and how much content you’ve shared.
